Narine Super over provides Qalandars PSL3 second win

Lahore Qalandars 163-8 (Salman 50 | Irfan 2-35) beats Karachi Kings 163-5 (Babar 61, Simmons 55 | Sohail Khan 3-35) in the super over

Match 24 PSL Lahore Qalandars vs Karachi Kings – In a widely wobbling contest that was frequently altering its nature of the result, Lahore Qalandars, at last, dominate Karachi Kings on the second odd super over of HBL PSL history. After Lahore had made 11 in the super over, Karachi was off the track by Sunil Narine’s experienced bowling, who showed his emotions for the first time. Narine conceded only two runs off the first two deliveries including the wicket of Colin Ingram. In the last two deliveries Karachi Kings couldn’t sense but their defeat.

Babar and Simmons’ partnership brought Karachi Kings on track

Asked to bat first, Karachi Kings lost Joe Denly early in their innings, since then they managed to get the momentum back courtesy of 75 runs partnership between Babar Azam(61 of 45) and Lendl Simmons(55 of 39). Simmons started his serge by hitting Anton Devcich for three boundaries towards the covers, followed by some elegant a deals of nifty cuts and heavy slogs. After his dismissal, Shaheen Shah Afridi gifted a life to Babar Azam by dropping a sitter allowing him to score his 2nd fifty in three games of PSL3. For Lahore Qalandars Sohail Khan guided 3 Karachi Kings towards the pavilion.

Imad and Bopara took the pace off in the middle overs

In their mission to the chase the target of 163, Lahore Qalandars started their innings in the similar fashion without any absurdity. The young gun Agha Salman (50 off 45 balls) played a sophisticated hand with Fakhar Zaman and Devcich marched around him. Though it was looking that Lahore has this target in their hand, captain Imad Wasim and Ravi Bopara brought a twist in the tail by taking the pace off. Lahore managed to score only 24 runs in overs 10-15 slowed down the things for them.

Sohail Akhtar turned up the dial to the Super Over

Earlier in the evening, Qalandars faced a full show of emotions as they were marching towards the victory very comfortably. With 16 needed off the last over Sohail Khan turned the thing around for Lahore. He bought the game to be decided in the super over by wracking Usman Khan 2,4 and 6.

Karachi Kings demoted to third place in the PSL3 points table

With their defeat in the PSL, Karachi  Kings moves to the 3rd place in the points table. Lahore Qalandars with their 2nd win still stuck to the 6th place.
