Multan Sultans launching ceremony was held on 4th February, in which the Multan Sultans franchise was officially announced. A friendly match was played between Toofan XI vs Sultan XI. Former Pakistan Captain and the current captain of Multan Sultans team Shoaib Malik lead his side named Toofan XI. They were up against Sultan XI lead by another former captain of Pakistan and the current team manager of Multan Sultans, Wasim Akram. This friendly match was played on the occasion of the Multan Sultans launching ceremony 2018.

Sultan XI won the match by 7 wickets with 4 balls remaining. Abdullah Shafique scored unbeaten 33 runs off just 22 deliveries. Shoaib Malik pocketed 2 wickets in his only 1 over for the Toofan XI.

Multan Sultans team Director Wasim Akram felt very much proud of playing at Multan Cricket Stadium. It was just like recalling some great memories from his past.

1-  Imran Nazir made a come back in cricket after a long span of time. He scored 28 runs off just 34 balls. The crowd looked loving his innings. In the end, it was Multan Sultans who provided him a fair chance to showcase his talent once again. That proves Multan Sultans’ support towards its supporters, lovers, and the national players.

2- Wasim Akram looked enjoying his spell of bowling. His swinging deliveries put the batsmen in big trouble. Even the Star allrounder Shoaib Malik wasn’t able enough to withstand his bowling tactics. Hence, Wasim Akram’s fitness even at this stage of the age is an authentic proof of his Sultani nature.

3- Sultan XI won the match which gives a clear gesture of Multan Sultans domination in the Pakistan Super League 2018. Long story short, It was Sultans who signatures their domination.

The third season of Pakistan Super League will kick start on 22nd Feb. Multan Sultans Vs Peshawar Zalmi will be the PSL3 opener on the same day. Shoaib Malik will lead the side from the front. Other international stars like Kieron Pollard, Kumar Sangakkara, Imran Tahir etc are also the part of Multan Sultans squad.
