Umar Gul Joins Multan Sultans as Supplementary Player in PSL3
Umar Gul played the first two seasons of the Pakistan Super League for Quetta Gladiators. Now, he is picked by Multan Sultans as a supplementary player for PSL3.
Playing for Quetta Gladiators in the last season he played 8 matches picking up 5 wickets with an economy of 8.52 runs per over.
33- years old fast bowler played 60 T20I for his country picking up 85 wickets. He was given an opportunity for playing the T20I in the 2007 ICC T20 Cricket World Cup, where he turned out to be the leading wicket-taker of the event with 13 wickets ahead of Shahid Afridi and RP Singh.
Umar Gul is the second leading wicket-taker in the ICC T20 World Cups with 47 wickets. He was part of the Pakistani Cricket team who lifted up the title back in 2009 ICC T20 World Cup held in England. He was also the leading wicket-taker of that tournament. Who can forget his lethal bowling spell against New Zealand? He took 5/6.
Gul also established himself as a worthy batsman with an ability to score quick runs down the order. Against England in 2010 test match, he came out to bat on no. 8 when his side was 103/7, Gul played a lovely hand preventing his country from the follow-on and remained unbeaten 65*.
