5 Multan Sultans’ strong points over Qalandars | PSL3 Predictions

There are some plus points that Multan Sultans owns in Pakistan Super League 2018. Let’s have a look at these possibilities.

“1- Multan Sultans have Wasim Akram

Multan Sultans have Wasim Akram as the team manager and the bowling coach. This might be the biggest advantage that Sultans have over Lahore Qalandars. Wasim Akram is known as the “Sultan of Swing”. If we look at the earlier seasons of Pakistan Super League, we can see that Wasim Akram was serving Islamabad United. He was the Head Coach of Islamabad United. ISLU enjoyed much success under his era, he had a key role in the championship of Islamabad United. So, this experience can give Multan Sultans a lot of favors.

On the other hand, Lahore Qalandars has Aqib Javed as the Bowling Coach. He is serving the Qalandars for the last two seasons of PSL. But, Qalandars couldn’t enjoy many victories under his supremacy. Even, Qalandars were not been able to make their place in the Playoffs. Some other bad records like the lowest total of 59 runs vs Peshawar Zalmi is also stuck with Lahore Qalandars.

Thus, Multan Sultans have the advantage to have Wasim Akram. He is more experienced than Aqib Javed.

“2- Multan Sultans have Tom Moody

Tom Moody is appointed as the Head Coach of Multan Sultans team. Although he hasn’t worked in Pakistan Super League in both the seasons, he has a load of experience working in other leagues. He is working in different leagues like IPL, BPL, BBL. He is working with Sun Risers Hyderabad since 2012 in the Indian Premier League. Over the course of 2012 – 2017, Sun Risers Hyderabad reached two times in the qualifiers and became champions in 2016. He has the experience to work with Rangpur Riders in the Bangladesh Premier League.

On the other side, Aqib Javed is the bowling of Lahore Qalandars. He has also worked in the last two seasons of the Pakistan Super League with Qalandars. But, Lahore Qalandars has not the best of the records in the PSL. They couldn’t even qualify for the Playoffs in both the seasons. Aqib Javed is also less experienced than Tom Moody because he hasn’t worked much in the franchise cricket.

Hence, Tom Moody does the favor for the Sultans than Aqib Javed. Because in terms of experience Moody is a good choice over Javed. This is also one of the highlighted PSL3 Predictions.

“3- Multan Sultans have Shoaib Malik

Unfortunately, Lahore Qalandar’s couldn’t find a settled captain. In the first edition of the Pakistan Super League, Azhar was the captaining the side. But, Azhar couldn’t produce many efficient results for Lahore Qalandars. In the second edition, Brenden McCullum was leading the side. Under his leadership, the team was much improved but not up to the mark either. He is now retired from the international cricket.

On the other hand, Multan Sultans have Shoaib Malik to lead the side in the Pakistan Super League 2018. Shoaib played for Karachi Kings in the last two seasons of PSL. Shoaib Malik has a lot of experience in terms of international, leagues and domestic cricket. He played in CPL, BPL, BBL, and PSL. He played for the different franchise in the world-wide leagues. Shoaib also holds the record of most successful captain for Sialkot Stallions. Under his captaincy, Sialkot won 5 titles in the domestic tournaments.

This can give Multan Sultans a real edge in the PSL3 Predictions.

“4- Multan Sultans is a balanced side

In the previous two seasons, we saw Lahore Qalandars not performing well. In PSL 2016, Qalandars had a huge batting unit. They had Chris Gayle, Umar Akmal, Dj Bravo etc.  But, if we look at the bowling side we didn’t saw any strike bowler on behalf of the Qalandars. This was the biggest reason for Lahore Qalandar’s failure in both the seasons of Pakistan Super League. In PSL 2017, the case was different Qalandars were able to find some economical players like Brendon McCullum, Sunil Narine, and Sohail Tanvir. But the clue remained unsolved, the new upcoming players couldn’t enjoy much success on the slow pitches of UAE.

On the other side, Multan Sultans are newcomers to the Pakistan Super League. Although the franchise is new itself it consists of those players who have already participated in PSL. Players like Shoaib Malik, Kumar Sangakkara, Kieron Pollard, Imran Tahir etc. are part of this franchise. Multan has Ahmad Shahzad who is one of the highest runs scorers in HBL PSL. Other players like Darren Bravo, Kumar Sangakkara, Sohaib Maqsood, Shoaib Malik, Kieron Pollard etc. to strengthen the batting department. Imran Tahir, Muhammad Irfan, Umar Gul, Junaid Khan, Sohail Tanvir are there to boost the bowling department. This is also one of the most searched PSL3 Predictions.

“5- Multan Sultans is worthy than Qalandars

Multan Sultans franchise is the most worthy out of all the franchises participating in Pakistan Super League. Multan Sultans was assembled in 2017 to add some lovely icing on the HBL PSL cake. On 1st June 2017Schon Properties won the rights to buy Multan after winning a bid of US$ 5.2 million per year, thus Multan became the most expensive franchise of the HBL PSLreplacing Karachi Kings with a bid of $26 million for a ten-year period. Thus, Sultans has the worth of $41 million. Lahore Qalandars, on the other hand, has the worth of $25 million for ten years.

This is not the point that going to affect both the teams on the field. But, it’s a good repute for Multan Sultans fans off the field. And the fact that Sultans tried their best to bring some quality players to their side, should be appreciated.

These were some PSL3 Predictions over Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars franchises. The edition of Pakistan Super League will get started on 22nd February. Multan Sultans will start their mission right from that day.
